There are more options to treating blood loss than the historical transfusion of allogenic blood from the blood bank. Developing research has shown that there are various associations between transfusion and adverse outcomes, beyond HIV and Hepatitis transmission.

This has led to multidisciplinary teams implementing Patient Blood Management techniques to reduce both adverse outcomes and costs through lowered demand for allogeneic blood.

This meeting will examine cutting edge research and developments regarding blood functions, oxygen delivery, microcirculation and inflammation. The success of various Patient Blood Management programs in the United States and internationally will be discussed with an emphasis on known and emerging risks of allogenic transfusion, the cost benefits of Patient Blood Management, and the use of multi-disciplinary teams.

We hope to see you in Orlando!
